Dar al-Hamd was specifically setup to facilitate the learning of Qur'anic studies for westerners. Our main focus is on the science of Tajwid and its related fields, since the word Qur'an literally means "a recital". As such, the greatest emphasis in Dar al-Hamd is on perfecting one's recitation so that it becomes identical with the recitation of the beloved Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace). Given the rarity of academic institutions in the east which specifically cater to the needs of non-Arab speaking students, we have decided to provide this service to earn the good pleasure of Allah.
